Leah, Taylor, and their childhood sweethearts met at the same college they attended when they were 16. Leah says that Taylor proposed after they had been dating for ten years. Taylor had been traveling the world before with the army. Now was the perfect time.
PLANS TURN UPSIDE DOWN
Leah says, “Our wedding on 1st April 2020 was canceled due to the lockdown in the country.” “Our honeymoon in October was already scheduled in the Maldives. We were unable to cancel the trip because it was so far away. We couldn’t move or refund the dates because the Covid Red List was subject to change.
A MALDIVES LAST-MINUTE WEDDING
Leah says, “10 days before our departure date, the Maldives were placed on the Green List.” We had to leave or lose our money. Taylor asked, “Why don’t you and I get married there?” Let’s take advantage of the situation. Our plans are completely flipped upside down. Due to the pandemic, our honeymoon turned into our wedding. How could you refuse a Maldives Wedding?”
Just three days to find the dress…
Leah says, “We rushed to Birmingham WED2B in a hurry and were welcomed by friendly staff.” We explained that it was Saturday and that we would be flying out Tuesday. Taylor helped me choose as I could not do it alone. “We were breaking tradition, so why should this matter now?”
Dream Dress Sorted in Just 1 Hour!
Leah says, “Our story really captured the team at the store and they were on hand to assist me in finding ‘The One.’” “I am a size 6 petite woman and needed a dress that was lightweight and didn’t require much alteration. It wasn’t going to be easy.” Three dresses later, it was found!
We had the dress and accessories and were out in an hour with huge smiles! The team made it so easy. The service at WED2B was outstanding. I originally had a dress from a Cotswolds bridal shop for my wedding date. I now always tell brides-to-be to go straight to WED2B. The service provided was faultless and very personal.
I MARRIED A WEEK LESS…
Leah chose Sorrento. Leah says, “I wanted a light dress because of the Maldivian weather and didn’t require any alteration as I was pressed for time.” “To put things in perspective, I attended WED2B Saturday, 16th October, and flew to Maldives Tuesday, 19th. Then, I got married Saturday, 23rd October. “Exactly one week since I chose my wedding dress!”
THE BIG DAY
Leah says, “It was our honeymoon, and it was only Taylor and me there.” “I never would have planned it that way. However, it was the best choice we made. Everything just fell into place.” It was even better than the original plans for our wedding. Even Taylor, in his wedding suit, had a beautiful day at 30. We walked down the white-sand aisle with the Maldivian blue crystal sea in the background. Bliss!”
Leah says, “We had a seven course beach BBQ with live music in a remote area of the island after the ceremony.” “We had a palm-tree theme and a three tier wedding cake for ourselves.”
OUR FAVOURITE MEMORIES…
“We put a note in a coconut and threw it out into the sea …. Leah says, “Our message in the coconut floated to our sea hut four days later!” We now have our coconut back home. It was meant to be with us.
